Frequently asked questions
Why won't my MOV play on Windows in the first place?
Usually the container, sometimes the codec. MOV is Apple's container format and plenty of Windows software never learned it. Repackaging into MP4 fixes the container problem, and the local re-encode handles the rest.
Will I lose quality?
A little, since this is a re-encode rather than a repackage. At the default bitrate the difference is hard to spot for phone footage. Keep the original if it matters archivally.
